Business Description
The Downers Grove Choral Society usually performs three concerts of major choral works with professional orchestral musicians and outstanding vocal soloists during each season. Concerts are on Sunday afternoons beginning at 3:00 p.m.
In addition to this three-concert Choral Concert Series, the DGCS has an active Outreach Program that serves Downers Grove and the surrounding area.
Rehearsals for the three-concert Choral Concert Series are held on Monday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at the Indian Boundary YMCA, 711 59th St, Downers Grove.
Members pay annual dues of $125 for the season or $50 for just one concert term and purchase their own musical scores. Scores are available for purchase at rehearsals.
Members also receive four concert tickets with their yearly dues, or two tickets for one term payment. These can be re-sold or given away by the member.
Members are expected to participate in nonsinging activities that are necessary to sustain the Society. Examples include selling tickets, setting up for concerts, and helping with fundraising and marketing activities.
